How To Back up Outlook Express Files

The following information will guide you on how to properly setup a backup of your Outlook Express data:

1. To perform backup of Outlook Express data, Outlook Express must be closed.
2. Find the location of the Outlook Express folder first by opening Outlook Express and selecting Tools -> Options -> Maintenance -> Store Folder. Please remember the location of the folder.

   

3. Close Outlook Express, and open GoodSync.
4. Click Browse on the left side and select Outlook Express folder you memorized earlier.
5. Click Browse on the right side and select the destination folder to back up to or sync with.
6. Make sure that job direction is what you want: Go to Job > Options > 1 - Way Left to Right> to backup or Job > Options > 2 - Way to sync.
7. Start the sync/backup process by clicking the Analyze button.
8. Examine the file copy actions that Analyze proposes and make sure they are what you want.
9. Click the Sync button to complete your sync/backup.
