How To Back up Windows Mail Files

GoodSync can perform backups (1-way syncs) and limited 2-way syncs of Windows Mail data. Read More.

The following information will guide you on how to properly setup a backup of your Windows Mail data:

1. Close Windows Mail, so that it writes and unlocks all data files.

2. Click Browse on the left side in GoodSync and select the following Windows Mail data folder:

   C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\

   

3. Click Browse on the right side and select the destination folder to back up to or sync with.
4. Make sure that job direction is what you want: Go to Job > Options > 1- Way Left to Right to backup or Job > Options > 2 - Way to sync.
5. Start the backup/sync process by clicking the Analyze button.
6. Examine the file copy actions that Analyze proposes and make sure they are what you want.
7. Click the Sync button to commit proposed file copy actions.
