What is GoodSync?

GoodSync is a versatile and cost-effective backup and synchronization solution that works with a variety of protocols, cloud services, and storage devices, giving you maximum flexibility, ease of use, and reliability. GoodSync can connect computers and storage devices on your Local Area network / Wide Area Network, including removable or NAS devices, or devices connected through FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, Cloud Storage, etc.


What is the difference between Enterprise and Consumer?

While the core syncronization and backup algorithms are the same, the Enteprrise version has additional features, including automatic Job distribution, integration with Active Directory, Mass Deployment, command line and more.

Can GoodSync run on a Server?

GoodSync Server is used to configure backup and synchronization jobs between your server and other devices over your Local Area Network / Wide Area Network, and over FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, or GoodSync Connect. It is easily configured to any network and can deploy several backup strategies, including backup and synchronization of folders and files

GoodSync Server takes advantage of the Server libraries and hardware to enable a faster and more robust backup and syncronization solution.

When deployed on a Server, GoodSync gives you one central point to manage and report on all of your organizations backups.


Can GoodSync run on a NAS device / Linux / Mac / Windows?

Yes, we offer GoodSync versions for Windows, Mac, Linux / Unix, NAS devices and more...


Can GoodSync work over FTP, WebDAV, SFTP, SSL, etc?

GoodSync supports a variety of network protocols, including FTP, SFTP, WebDAV and more... And for all protocols that support it, these connections can be made via SSL.


Which Cloud Services does GoodSync support?

GoodSync supports many of the most popular Cloud Services today, including Amazon S3, Google Drive, Windows Azure, SkyDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, Sharepoint, Office 365, OneFile, and more... And for all services that support it, these connections can be made via SSL.

What are the different versions of GoodSync Enterprise?

At it's core there are the Enterprise Workstation, Enterprise Server, and Control Center.

What type of data can be synchronized?

Any data stored in a file can be synchronized.


Can GoodSync replace Microsoft DFS, Offline Files, etc?

In a word, yes... GoodSync can be used to keep all your Workstations in sync across your entire network (or the internet). And GoodSync does it better

Does GoodSync support real-time Sync?

GoodSync's On File Change, will monitor your systems for any changes and automatically keep your machines in sync or backed up in real time.


How can I run a script relative to my GoodSync backup or syncronization Job?

Using our Scripts function, you can kick off any script or application (for example to establish a VPN connection, populate the windows Event Log or DataBase, etc) before or after a GoodSync Job has run.


Does my data ever go to GoodSync servers?

No, your data only goes from the location you specify to the destination you specifiy. There is never any data sent to our servers.
